Well-versed in evolutionary biology and all things sciencey. In addition to being a scientist, I'm also a creative writer, a photographer, a science/humor blogger (http://sydkab.wordpress.com/), a didgeridoo player, an avid hiker, and outdoorsman.
Received my B.S. at the University of Oregon and Robert D. Clark Honors College with a major in biology and an emphasis on ecology and evolutionary biology. I am currently a first-year PhD student at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, where I plan to study marine phylogeography and speciation.
I'm prone to be a beardy, wanderlustful,
landscape-admiring, pun-appreciating, fiction-writing, world-building, plaid-wearing, outdoorsy, bug-loving, fly-fishing, trail-trekking, microbrew-swigging, song-singing, debate-having, Cascadian socialist.
I hope that heads up serves as a welcome more than a deterrent...because I'm quite fond of people. :)
